What is a blog?

I have many people visiting my blog and assuming it is my webite. I actually have an official website http://staceybahrphotography.com that focuses on my style, availability, and galleries. The blog allows me to say a quick hello and showcase some of my recent sessions, along with news. When you visit my website, click on the little girl on the left for highspeed internet. If you click on the little girl in the middle, you will come right back here! If you still have dial up, you will click on the little girl on the right. That little girl is my friend's child and still has the same fun personality! Thanks for taking the time to visit and have a fabulous spring!

TRIPLETS!

Wow, these three, that's right THREE babies were a blast! They were all perfect and although we mixed them up (just a little!) I think we figured it out in the end:-)

New Year, New Camera!

Happy New Year! I am so happy to begin sessions again and I will be bringing along my new camera! My new camera will allow me to operate inside while still using natural light! It will also allow me to offer larger print sizes of 16x20 and up.

Happy Holidays

I am so happy to have a minute to wish everyone happy holidays! The picture above is from our brief vacation to Williamsburg, Virginia. The wreath is from a home in Colonial Williamsburg. The houses are each judged on their all natural decorations and they are amazing each year. Williamsburg is a great place to visit this time of year. My number one recommendation is afternoon tea at the Williamsburg Inn. The Inn's decorations are unreal with beautiful gingerbread houses and elaborate trees.

This year has been very exciting as my first year in business. I have learned so much and I credit all of the amazing families I have worked with. The holiday season was very busy and I am excited to take some time in December to learn my new camera and continue my education as a photographer.

In 2008 all of my returning clients will receive a complimentary 5x7! I will also continue my complimentary 8x10 referral bonus! I had so many clients receive multiple 8x10s in 2007 and I would not have the great new clients I work with without you. Thank you again for all of your help!

Seniors

This senior was a joy to photograph! He is nice, smart, athletic, and his parents deserve five stars for raising such a great kid.

All seniors from the graduating class of 2008 will receive eight complimentary wallets with their session. They will also receive either 16 complimentary wallets or a complimentary 8x10 with each friend that books a session!

This is a photograph from a recent session with an amazing family awaiting the arrival of their second baby. They are not sure of the sex but my guess is a girl!

October is full but I do have a couple of November slots open! Although I will be closed in December, I always leave room for newborns!

Fall into Fall

Where did the summer go? I am so excited about all of my upcoming sessions especially with the Fall colors arriving very soon. I love the photography of this child because he has the Fall breeze in his hair but still has his summer tan. He along with his sister were a treat to photograph!

Don't forget to check out the 61st St. Mary's County Fair! We just love the food (can you say funnel cake) and the kids love to see the animals.

Senior Fun

The pool is closed, school is back in, and fall is around the corner. In the photography world, this is known as the Christmas season. Yes, Christmas season!!! Many studios close in December and I will not be taking any appointments past November in order to ensure pictures for the holidays arrive in time. I will however take newborn or first birthday appointments in December with a delayed gallery.

The senior pictured was obviously a beautiful girl and a blast to work with!

My husband thought it would be a terrific idea to visit Flag Pond in Calvert County. I thought it was a great idea as well. What we didn't consider (temporary loss of reality due to too many Sunday morning pancakes,) is that taking two fully clothed children to the beach probably was not the greatest idea. We ended up at the end of the long hike (forgot strollers as well) and our children were instantly in the water. The poor families that had to watch our children swimming in a diaper and Nemo underwear. The good news is we had a blast and found two (very tiny) shark's teeth. The bad news is my husband had to carry two children equal to 56 pounds up the hill to the parking lot which was about a 1/2 mile away. I was happy to remind him that that was about the weight I carried (plus a few pounds, but who is counting) when I was pregnant:) Our next visit will include bathing suits, strollers, and towels!

I have one session spot open for the end of August. I was telling a new Mommy the other day that although my calendar may be full, I try to make room for newborns and those other special times that require a photographer sooner.

The eyes have it!

I am always telling clients that I love proofing pictures because I get to see very close up the detail and beautiful colors of different eyes. I love this example because you can see my reflection in this child's beautiful brown eyes.

Vacation Tips

We just returned from Williamsburg, Virginia and had a blast! After half of us being sick on our vacation last year, we had very low expectations. This can be a good thing when things go well and you are surprised! I captured this image of my DD (darling daughter) at the time share we were staying at called Powhatan Plantation.

As promised, my special tip that involved detailed research. When going anywhere that involves crowds, always go to your left! Why the left you may say. Most of us are wired to go the the right (right handed.) I noticed that when we entered the amusement park, the line was shorter on the left. As soon as your in, go to the left and you will notice that most people are rushing to the right (silly people.) When in line to get food, again, go left. I neglected to follow my own tip and watched two people in the left line of the eatery while my line (the right one) was 20 deep. I hope you use this tip on your next vacation and if it doesn't work for you, you didn't hear it from me:)

I captured this picture of my friend's little man and it screamed black and white. He is a great age to photograph!

Summer has been wonderful thus far. This weekend my family and I spent time picking raspberries and spending time on the beach, all in little old St.Mary's. I am starting to believe there is no reason to leave in the summer with all of the wonderful activities. We all know winter is a different story:)

This great little helper along with his family pointed out the beautiful sunset picture below. Every family has a photographer in it!
I am enjoying photographing families and am excited to start photographing older children along with seniors. The father below is making an amazing sacrifice for our country as he begins a tour in Iraq.
